Hi everybody!
Today David finished his classes (finally…), so as
celebration we took a field trip. We wound up at the Traditional Crafts Museum
at Fureaikan! It was a small little museum that explained how Japanese
traditional crafts – like kimono, fans, and tatami were made (and are still
made by hand!). They even had English descriptions, which was really nice!
The best part was when we got to learn how to do Japanese
style dyeing! We got to paint a nice handkerchief! Of course, the class quickly
devolved into the other kids and I running away from the demon David (he put
pencils behind his ears to give him horns ;p ). That was a lot of
fun!
I painted hana (flowers) and kuma (bears)! |
But points to David for successfully understanding the teacher’s Japanese instructions! Good for him!
