Day 1 in Tainan (12/22/12)

Hi everybody!

We’re here in Tainan!

Yeah...not my favorite.

Stinky tofu!
Crickets...
We got off the high speed rail and then picked up some more speed on a Taiwanese motor bike.
David was really scared, but it was a lot of fun! You go so fast!

It's kind of stinky.
We also ate at a night market! Yup cheap, hot, and good! I like fried foods on a stick. There was everything from chicken, to organs, to crickets! Apparently though, even Taiwanese don’t usually eat crickets. They say that’s a Chinese thing. It wasn’t bad, just kind of crunchy. Stinky tofu wasn’t bad either, but it did have a weird aftertaste! Probably the best thing was the desert – an ice cream spring roll with a sweet peanut sauce. There were also cool street fair games! David won himself a Pikachu (I don’t know whether I should be happy for him or embarrassed for him for winning another Pokémon. The least he could have done was win something useful).

But anyways, night markets are fun! Yay Taiwanese night markets!
Tainan Night Market!
