Day 2 in Taipei (12/21/20)

Hi everybody!

TODAY WE SAW PANDAS!!!!!
Yup! At the Taipei Zoo, they have a panda exhibit! So cute!
For just $TW 30 ($US 1), you can go visit the pandas! YAY PANDAS!
(on a sidenote: I also liked the panda gift store because they were playing Disney music!).
We also took a cable car from the city into the zoo area.

Then, we ate beef noodle soup. It’s a Taiwan staple and very satisfying. Also, the tea at the restaurant was good too. It had a slight sweetness to it and was really refreshing!

We then saw Taipei 101! It’s a really cool building, and it’s shaped like bamboo. We went up 88 floors in less than a minute on a super fast elevator! David then of course had to be all nerdy by making several obscure Artemis Fowl (a children’s book) references. Something about a tie and paying for something...with hundred and one somethings…I don’t get it either.

Then we ate dumplings! There was xiaolongbao (or dumplings filled with hot, juicy broth), dumplings in spicy sauce, and dumplings with sweet bean paste! And we met with more ALC friends (and David embarrassed himself again – I told him that if it looks like a sweet bean paste it probably is and that not every dumpling in the restaurant needs or wants to be dipped in vinegar)!

Xiaolongbao!

Another fun day in Taipei! And now we are heading down to Tainan on the cool high-speed rail. See you soon Tainan!
